Primary care residency programs

PPACA establishes the Prevention and Public Health Fund, which provides a variety of grants. One grant allows medical schools to expand the number of slots in their primary care residency programs.

Arkansas Implementation

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences applied for the grant funding and was awarded $4.56 million to add an additional 30 primary care residency positions over the next five years in the state's Area Health Education Centers.
